Mews Update - Further adventures

Hi everyone, I haz been quite a busy Kitty this week.

Getting lots of ZZZzzz's in as it is getting a bit colder.

                                                            Frosty full moon night

I have found that on the shoulders of the humans is a good place to perch and it stops them doing stuff so they can fuss me!

                                                               Human shoulder perch

I have been out and about again this week, this time just on my lead with no FBI harness as it makes my butt look big!
Lookin sleek!

I met Lucy from next door yesterday - gave her a quick hiss to tell her to 'gerrof my land!, she didn't listen because she is French and a dog (and eats cat poop!) but I was very brave!!

I like to play up the humans by going in and out on my lead, it keeps them on their toes and at my beck and call of course.

My favourite Log - not sure what it is but it smells Nice!!

The humans have started to burn stuff in the evening to keep warm, I love snuggling by the fire and watching the flame creatures in the fire grate.

When the humans go to bed at night, I stay by the fire until it goes out and then burrow under the duvet and steal their heat till morning and noms time.

The Dad human is going away this weekend to get more stuff from England, I will spend my time keeping the Momma human company until he gets back, hopefully with more treats and noms fur me.

Take care all and I will update you on my adventures next week,

Mew! xx

Week 2 Update

Hi all, running late this week - time flies when your having fun!

We have both been busy in the kitchen, Bex has been baking bread and I had my first attempt at making cheese - update on 19th Dec when it is unveiled after maturing.

Cheesemaking

Maybe slightly more than 15kg for 12 hours??

The Recipe said 8 Litres of Milk - We only had 1 left!

We now have a postbox - Cest Arrive'

Weather has been a mix of rain and sun, very cold with a frost Saturday and Sunday morning, so I was informed by Bex - I was on Mew cuddling duty in the mornings.
Bex has been getting to grips with the Axe - here are a few action shots.........

One of the most difficult tasks so far has been trying to buy French plugs online. I have joined up to Anglo Info for our area and put out a call for sources of cheap and readily available plugs. I can now get them for €1.25 with free delivery from Toolstation France. So far Bex has used up 10 plugs just on kitchen appliances!!

Bex has been very busy on the allotment getting it weeded and dug over ready for the frost to break up the soil. We have measured it and it is approx 500m2 - should keep her busy for a while!!

She is l'e girl with brambles in e'r air!

I have been working on Cabanon B and now how 2 workbenches and a vice. Did some wiring and have a small distribution board with universal socket, USB and 16A for pillar drill. I am getting rid of the fluorescent tubes and replacing with 7W LED lamps that we have in the house to cut down on the bills and justify my welding usage ;-)

We have POWER!!!!

Im back to the UK this weekend for 4 days to pick up my stuff from ShedB and the Trike, Bex will be home alone with Mew, so I will try to update before I go.

First job when i get back will be apple picking/squishing/cidermaking followed by fabricating a 'Grate wall of fire'/heat exchanger hybrid for the fireplace - first Cabanon B project (after I have filled in the window opening in the shed.)

Take care wherever you are, thanks for reading our blog and please leave some comments if you have time,

Mr Goth XX

Bake off

Saturday night spent making Blackcurrant and unidentified fruit pies - We Rock!!!

Frozen fruit imported from our allotment,  frozen circa 2012/13

JusRoll pastry imported from our freezer,  frozen circa 2014

The results were................. 'interesting'

Emergency Tart with the leftovers

Made up for by French pork with Crackling - unheard of over here, and homemade apple sauce with apples from our orchard (only a small drop of Pheasant was wasted on cooking)

Mews Update

Uncle Larry and Aunty Callie came to dinner today, I had some yummy Cat Fud in gravy with them but no fizzy wine as I is a cat!

Bit of  a snooze this afternoon then I found the Magic Tap!!! or 'magie du robinet' as they call it over here.

Now I scratch the bathroom door until the humans come and turn on the magic tap for me - they are settling in nicely and I will soon have them trained!

Here are a few more pictures the humans took of me, looking gorgeous of course, to keep you a'mews'ed until next week.

Au revoir and all that,

Mew!  xxx

Le' Woodshed

Me & Bex have been busy stacking Oak ready for the winter - hopefully this will be enough!

Panorama of Le' Woodshed

We still have some of the mighty Willow that the gang processed last year, just dry enough to burn now. Many thanks to Dave for the stacking of the kindling Jenga, we haven't found the booby trap yet but we are only a little way through it!

Hi all,

I was brave enough to venture out for a bit on Wednesday - I was very brave!

I like to chat randomly at the humans to keep them wondering where I am???
I like Le' Chat fud en Francais - it is Tres Bon! and even has vegetables in it

Here are a few photos of me looking pretty dashing in my FBI harness.
