Week 2 Update

Hi all, running late this week - time flies when your having fun!

We have both been busy in the kitchen, Bex has been baking bread and I had my first attempt at making cheese - update on 19th Dec when it is unveiled after maturing.

Cheesemaking

Maybe slightly more than 15kg for 12 hours??

The Recipe said 8 Litres of Milk - We only had 1 left!

We now have a postbox - Cest Arrive'

Weather has been a mix of rain and sun, very cold with a frost Saturday and Sunday morning, so I was informed by Bex - I was on Mew cuddling duty in the mornings.
Bex has been getting to grips with the Axe - here are a few action shots.........

One of the most difficult tasks so far has been trying to buy French plugs online. I have joined up to Anglo Info for our area and put out a call for sources of cheap and readily available plugs. I can now get them for €1.25 with free delivery from Toolstation France. So far Bex has used up 10 plugs just on kitchen appliances!!

Bex has been very busy on the allotment getting it weeded and dug over ready for the frost to break up the soil. We have measured it and it is approx 500m2 - should keep her busy for a while!!

She is l'e girl with brambles in e'r air!

I have been working on Cabanon B and now how 2 workbenches and a vice. Did some wiring and have a small distribution board with universal socket, USB and 16A for pillar drill. I am getting rid of the fluorescent tubes and replacing with 7W LED lamps that we have in the house to cut down on the bills and justify my welding usage ;-)

We have POWER!!!!

Im back to the UK this weekend for 4 days to pick up my stuff from ShedB and the Trike, Bex will be home alone with Mew, so I will try to update before I go.

First job when i get back will be apple picking/squishing/cidermaking followed by fabricating a 'Grate wall of fire'/heat exchanger hybrid for the fireplace - first Cabanon B project (after I have filled in the window opening in the shed.)

Take care wherever you are, thanks for reading our blog and please leave some comments if you have time,

Mr Goth XX
